Carpentery
When I moved into a new space, I saw it as more than just a blank canvas; I saw an opportunity to push my skills and make it mine, piece by piece.
I set out to furnish my home from the ground up, designing and building a dining table, desk, TV shelf, and bed. Working with both wood and metal, I explored the intersection of function and form, learning new tools, refining techniques, and creating a cohesive aesthetic that felt personal and purposeful.
This project became more than carpentry. It was a hands-on study in balance, materiality, and craft, and a reminder that good design starts with understanding how things are made.
Dining Room Table: using an old butcher's block, I sawed a new abstract shape. I then sanded it down before staining it dark grey. To finish a clear coat went on to protect the wood and give it a clean finish.

This bed was crafted with a metal frame and wood reinforcements. The headboard is simply 4 4x8s angled against two metal sheets to give texture but also durability.

With the same butcher block as the dining table, I cut the dimensions then I routed a section out for a metal sheet to cover a 1/8th of an inch as seen on the right. The legs are easily removable and make transportation much easier if needed.

Using old stumps that had been previously removed from my backyard, they were cut evenly, and then shaped for a modern rustic feel. The metal shelves are attached to a 1x6 that rests on the stumps forming the stand.
